Remembering Grammy....
My wax plant is in bloom. It was started from a clipping off my Grammy's plant. I am always thinking about you Grammy and I miss you.

Beauty and sadness
Yesterday was such a beautiful day. My husband and I set off for downtown Columbus to walk along the river.
It was wonderful and sad too. While walking we came upon a homeless tent community. I felt like the wind was knocked out of me. From the path if you turned in a circle you could see homeless camps and in another direction you saw multimillion dollar condos. It is so baffling to me.
On a lighter note what is this tree with the glorious furry leaf bud?

East Falls Hat
Sitting at my favorite coffee shop, Stauf's, finishing my hat. It is knit with Rowan Purelife, which is made from recycled silk, cotton and viscose. I feel so green working on this project!

Groovygan update
8 blocks finished. Using Berroco Vintage. I originally bought the yarn for a knitted block blanket but realized it wanted to be the Groovygan instead.

Groovyghan and my walk (run) to the dark side!
Meet the Groovyghan ( http://www.tangledness.com/html/fall_2010/groovyghan.html )
I started crocheting one of my very own last night. I am seriously enamored with this groovyghan.

Juicing
I have gotten back into juicing this week. Rather than eating a garbage snack in the late evening I grab and juice some produce.
Tonight's juice is carrots, two oranges, lemon and a pear. I usually add about a cup of filtered water as I don't like super sweet/strong juice. I like it diluted. I am still learning but after three consecutive days I feel so much better just from making this little dietary change. Progress not perfection!
Cancer update... I am cancer free. On Monday the Basal Cell Carcinoma was removed. I have 16 stitches on the side of my head and they have started itching as they tend to do. On Monday I will have them removed. I can't wait!

Unintentional Möbius !
I am so spitting mad right now ! I am 5 rows into a 200 stitch brim of the Wind-and-Sea hat and discovered the brim is twisted in an unintentional möbius. Booooo!

Covering my skin from the sun, especially my head, has become very important. Last Friday, while at the dermatologist for an unrelated health issue, I asked the doctor to check a spot on the side of my face near my left ear. He performed a biopsy.
Yesterday I received the results. I have Basal Cell Carcinoma. I am told its a very treatable and very common skin cancer. http://www.ravelry.com./patterns/library/windansea
I am having surgery on the 16th of this month. I have absolute faith I will be ok. I am in great hands.
Now to frog the hat brim and restart... Because in 35 days my wonderful husband is taking me to the Florida Keys for Valentines Day!

Wait! I haven't finished laying out my goals for 2012. Booooo!
What the heck am I waiting for? Perhaps somebody will write them for me?
I can reporter I still have one WIP, a donation blanket, on the needles from 2010. Everything else has been finished or frogged.
I am very sure I read more than 12 books in 2011. Woot!
I leave you with a photo of my Lotus Mitt. I learned how to do color-work in 2011. Yeah me!
